Happy new week everyone :). I hope you all had a great weekend.
We just got back last night from our weekend getaway at the cabin in Tolga. We drove down to Tolga from Trondheim on Friday night which is just about 3 hrs away. Tolga is a municipality in hedmark county, Eastern Norway. This was my second time at Tolga as we had been there another weekend before where we did some rafting at Sjoa which is another story for another time. This time around our plans involved going to the market at Tolga which promised to have lots of fun activities , and explore Røros town which has been named as a UNESCO world heritage site.
The next day we got up bright and early with a promise that the weather would be wonderful and just perfect for a little sundress. Random thing, I have realized that since I have been in Norway, I have had the most conversations about the weather here than I have ever had in my entire life!. Does it make sense?. Well I guess what am trying to say is that the Norwegian weather can be a little bit unpredictable and you best believe me when I say its just finally started to feel like summer.
The market day at Tolga was held at Dølmotunet right behind the Coop by the railway crossing. There was an entrance fee of about 70 Kroner for adults and 30 Kroner for kids. We had waffles and tea for breakfast then looked around the various stands on display.
So many beautiful old things dating as far back as the 1600`s!!.I felt like I had been transported back in time or I was in the middle of the most interesting history class ever <3. There was also an auction and various games for both adults and kids to play. I ended up swinging on this giant rope and I have posted the video on Instagram (@shishilestrange).
We also ended up tasting and trying different kinds of Goat cheese, smoked sausages etc. Later on I found out that this weekends market day was just a warm up for next weekends much bigger event! What!!. Damn!. Anyway if by any chance you find yourself in the area or know someone that is definitely a plan!.
We had such an amazing time at Tolga Market and I will sure be looking forward to when I can attend the next one :).
