“Music is the greatest communication in the world. Even if people don`t understand the language that you`re singing in, they still know good music when they hear it.” – Lou Rawls
A few weeks ago when I visited Frankfurt , we decided to go see the ROCK. FUNK. PUNK exhibition at the Frankfurt fotografie forum. This exhibition presents unique photographs of legendary musicians and concerts from the late 1960s till today and shows the legacy of this genres in the current music scene. There is over 150 images of famous legends and relatively recent internationally famous artists including David Bowie, Elton John, Bob Marley, John Lennnon, Johnny Cash,The Beatles, Kurt Cobain, Dead Kennedys,Beth Ditto,Udo Lindenberg,Janis Joplin,Metallica, Alice Cooper,The Rolling stones, Iggy pop, Motorhead, Frank Zappa, Coldplay, Hailey williams, JayZ, Linkin park etc.
Bands and musicians are photographed on stage and backstage -intimate and proximate. In addition to all that there is a selection of album covers from private collections and photographs of extravagant fashion statements from the music scene. On each of the photographs there was some text explaining who the artist is and the photographer. The exhibition was really wonderful as it takes you on a musical journey and seeing all those legends gave me goosebumps.
We had such a wonderful time at the exhibition and of course this yogi had to get her yoga on at the exhibition..LOL. One of this days i just might get kicked out because of my yoga Shenanigans 🙂
